On the Dominos pizza thread
Some concerns were raised about Dominos expansion plans in the UK and the impact on other local pizza outlets. But the councillor chairing the meeting rightly pointed out that neither of these issues are legitimate planning issues. Officers confirmed that at present there is nothing to stop every shop on that parade becoming a takeaway!
Should we worry about what these officers say, let alone 'confirm'? Is the implication that, without more planning use class restrictions, we Forest Hill faces nothing but chicken shops? Given that at present there is no such protection, and rather than a rash of such unwelcome development, Forest Hill is actually doing quite well, shouldn't just keep calm and carry on?
