Is it me or is the plane noise over Forest Hill really loud today? I'm normally at work but I've been at home all day and have noticed way more air traffic than other days I've been in, flights are coming over every ten minutes since 7 this morning - is this just just normal for Fridays?

It depends on the weather. Low cloud cover amplifies and reflects the noise.

Have a look on flightradar24.com, you can see the air traffic live.

You will be suprised to see how much flies over this area as we are in line with Heathrow airport.

The technique to receive flight information from aircraft is called ADS-B. That means the Flightradar24.com can only show information about aircraft equipped with ADS-B transponders. Today about 60% of the passenger aircraft and only a small amount of military and private aircraft have an ADS-B transponder.
