Hello,
I have my eye on a flat in Vale Lodge to rent. I was wondering if anyone lives there and has had any noise problems from inside the building?
Are the floors/ceilings concrete? Any issues with wooden floors?
Thanks very much for your advice.

Anyone with any comments?
Positive or negative, just keen to know the score.
Right now I live in a conversion flat, so I hope it will be a bit better.
thanks in advance!

James
I know this block well from the outside and have done so for 40 plus years.
Re floors etc surely you should ask the agent if you are renting.
I would imagine concrete but the building is quite ancient.
If you are at the front it is quite a busy road on Perry Vale. I seem to also recall a controversy whereby the freeholder was clamping cars parking without payment in the grounds.
Good Luck.

Edited because I re read your post and you are renting not buying doh!
Yeah it's a nice place to live. I rented a flat there years ago and loved it. I doubt you will have problems to be honest.

Thanks Pico, great to get your input
If anyone else has anything to add, jump in. I guess the building varies, I know part of it faces the road, which can be a benefit because the road noise would make any internal noise less noticeable.
My biggest worry is impact noise from the flat above. airborne noise isn't such a big deal, but the sound of people just moving around might be more of an issue. Are there any building rules about installing carpeting?
Any comments anyone?
Thanks in advance!

I don't remember noise being a problem there. The people who live there seem to be middle class, working and sensible.

Are there carpets throughout the flats by any chance?
Is it a requirement?

Some are wood, some are carpeted and some tiled.
It depends on the owner's tastes.

This is what worries me a bit, which is why I wanted to get as much varied feedback as possible before choosing the flat.
Does anyone else have any experience with this building?
