I've been here just a few days over 3 years, having moved from County Durham and I have to say I loved it then and it's just kept getting better since - better shops and eateries opening, better transport, access to leisure facilities and close by lots of other places.

What I think is missing is just a personal choice - a decent music shop - selling new and used records. However I find a lot in the charity shops and its not far to Rat in Camberwell or Music Exchange and Beehive in Greenwich. Music retail is only working now for specialists and it takes a lot of confidence to contemplate opening one in the present climate.

There's also nowhere apart from the charity shops to get mens and sports clothes/accessories, so I nearly always buy online or head to Surrey Quays/Canada Water or Stratford. Not much of a hardship though.

Dont forget Wanted Records in Beckenham. Just off the roundabout on Croydon Road. Massive choice, not always the cheapest but the records are in good condition. Sorry to be biased to vinyl but they do have a huge choice of CDs etc too. Not quite on the scale of the much missed Beanos in Croydon but nothing is!!
