I'm gob smacked by the snobbery!

Is East Dulwich really that fantastic? - I wouldnt swop. There seems to be an odd sense of 'rose tinted glasses' where Lorship Lane is concerned (assuming this is hub of the so called 'East Dulwich cafe culture'). Forest Hill has always had more facilities per square inch - good pubs, plenty of restaurants, hairdressers, a great and unique museum, fantastic public gardens, library, swimming pool (!!!!), not far from Synenham Woods, good familiy accommodation (and not too many high rise flats), and yes a launderette! What sensible community would be without one.

Unfortuantely drunks in the street outside pubs come with any high street with a social life and a smoking ban, so you really should move somewhere else (perhaps the Middle East?) if you dont like it. Better people having a few cheap beers making merry than gangs of p**sed up yoof hanging about causing criminal damage to private property. It's not a no go area outside the Bird in Hand, and some people on this board should really get a grip on reality.
