Is anyone doing the 3 minutes of bell-ringing tomorrow morning? It's part of a Martin Creed 'artwork' to mark the start of the Olymics. Start at 8.12am and ring a bell (any bell will do, eg door bell or bicycle bell) for 3 minutes.

And yes it would have been more appropriate at 20.12 in the evening but they chose the morning instead.

Spoofed here:

Although the spoof is hardly sillier than the real thing!

I went to the Big Bell Breakfast at the National Theatre - it was great! They brought out the huge bell used in their production of Frankenstein, which of course Danny Boyle directed so that all tied in rather neatly.

Lots of people there with lots of bells, all having a lovely time. Silly maybe, but lots of fun nevertheless Smile

I did! But a bit quietly / half-heartedly so as not to annoy the neighbours (I hope) - as you say, the evening would have been better noise-wise but it was still a fun and silly thing to take part in, nevertheless. Cool

The family and I beat merry hell out of the new Horniman tubular bells. There were a few people there straining to hear any others. Think we heard a cannon and some very faint tolling I guess from Big Ben. Quite fun to be involved, but not overwhelming.

If it's any comfort, I did hear you ringing the bells in the Horniman Gardens. Made me really smile that morning!
