I shall be doing this 1050 mile bike ride over twenty days in July, a few weeks after retiring and just after my 62nd birthday. I have been an SE23 resident for over 20 years and the ride will be raising funds for two local charities: St Christopher's Hospice in Sydenham and St Augustine's Church on One Tree Hill.

I am meeting all my own expenses and every penny raised will go to charity, but many thanks to Vaidas Bicycles in Honor Oak who showed their community spirit and support for local causes by doing a complimentary gold service on my bike in advance of the ride.

Your sponsorship will be most gratefully appreciated. You can donate online at justgiving.com. The first is for St Christopher's, the second for St Augustine's.

Donating through JustGiving is simple and secure. They send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on eligible donations by UK taxpayers. Any amount is welcome - the donation page makes it look as though the minimum is £10. It's not, you can donate whatever you like and any amount is welcome.

Many thanks in advance to all who decide to sponsor me.
