I picked up a leaflet at the Horniman for their free world music weekend in June. Looks like it will be a great day with a great range of music.

Music starts from 1pm this afternoon. Hopefully the rain will hold off.

Very pleasant in the park with a small crowd enjoying the music and sunshine. Pleased to see no complaints yet about blocked drives and road gridlock.
Horniman had extra toilets at the top of the main field, large bins for rubbish, and lots of stewards to help people.
I'll be going back this afternoon from 1pm for more music and sunshine.

I wandered up to the park in the late afternoon yesterday, rather fearing the worst as I usually visit the Horniman for a bit of peace and quiet. What I found was a festival with a lovely family atmosphere. I had intended just taking a walk through but I actually stayed for a couple of hours and it was a very pleasant way to spend a lazy afternoon. The music was very varied and I must admit not all to my taste, but none of it was excessively loud so by moving around a little you could choose how much (or little) you wanted to hear.

I think the organisers have done a splendid job with this and I think it is exactly the sort of event that should happen in the Horniman from time to time. I hope the weather stays fine and the second day is as successful as the first appeared to be. I would certainly recommend a visit.

Great couple of days in the Horniman. Appreciate all the musicians and staff that made it happen, and the dancers, especially those that didn't let the rain hold them back at the end. Hope to see more of this type of activity in the local area it's what makes London great.

Couldn't agree more MrsR! A perfect event for the Horniman. The atmosphere was lovely, the organisation good and the music was fabulous, for me especially the Romany Diamonds - how often do you see a dulcimer being played live? (Apart from in the Hands-on section that is).

More of the same please.

Couldn't agree more. Fabulous event with lots of space for kids, chairs for ageing adults to sit on and very friendly staff organising the event. The music and dance was of a very high standard and there was a great atmosphere. One improvement would have been a stall selling tea but that is a minor criticism!
