Hi Michelle,

There is already parent and toddler group on Monday mornings run by NCT at Forest Hill Methodist Church in Normaton Street ( I think it starts at 9.30). There is a separate room for mother and babies at the same time. Cost is 2 pound per child. There is a snack (fruit / rice cake / water) for a child + tea / coffee / biscuit for a parent

Hi Michelle,

I'll try and come along on Monday. My name's Catherine, and my son David is 9 months old.

See you then.

If you do fancy it, I have been to the playgroup at the Forest Hill Methodist church with my baby (5 months) that Derbyhilltop mentions, and it is very nice - there is a quiet peaceful room just for the babies, with playmats on the floor (so you don't have to have the babies on your lap, or take your own playmat, as you would in a pub/cafe), there is real coffee!, tea and biscuits. It's £2, so cheaper than buying coffee elsewhere.

The toddler room does get busy, but I think the baby room is a bit of a hidden treasure!

Well I tried to go to the Methodist Church one a few weeks ago and the Baby Room was closed as two members of staff had cried off sick. The thing is though, there was still a sign on the door saying that the Toddler Room was full and the Baby Room was available so it was a wasted trip. Sad

That is a shame, I didn't realise that. The group is completely voluntarily run, no-one is paid for their time, so perhaps they need more volunteers.

Hi
There is a mother and toddlers group that meet at All In One bar at the back of Forest Hill train station once a week. Rachel arranges it but don't have her info to hand. Hope this helps.
