I have heard through the grapevine that a new clothing shop will be opening where the old party shop was (the blue facade place near the pools - think it was SD Party or something).. I hope it goes go ahead..Dartmouth Rd does seriously need some help!

Anotherjohn and Kelly thanks for your comments and support for Dartmouth Road. I just opened a shop in Dartmouth Road a couple of weeks ago and the FH food fair on Sunday definitely brought new customers to my shop that probably wouldn't have popped in otherwise. On a very positive note I had a customer today from Brockley that popped in as she had heard about the shop, and another from Waldenshaw Road that said they don't normally venture up Dartmouth Road but did today to visit the shop. Hopefully this will continue and benefit all businesses on the road. The more footfall the better for all.
Kelly I will be putting a community board up soon so feel free to pop in some flyers/cards to go on it. PM me for shop details. Also any other businesses in the area that want to pop in flyers/cards for the community board PM me for shop details.

Poolsneighbour after reading your post about the new clothes shop on Dartmouth Road I have been looking to see if I could see any activity in there and to find out what is opening. Yesterday I saw and spoke with a young lady in there and she told me she is opening a Ladies boutique. I didn't ask when she was opening as I was in a rush. I am looking forward to another new shop opening on Dartmouth Road and wish the lady the best of luck.

I will try to find out when she is planning on opening etc when I see her next and let you all know. and poolsneighbour maybe this might encourage someone to open a men's clothes shop if it does well. Fingers crossed.

Glad to hear that there will be another food fair. Just a pity that it's the Sunday of the jubilee weekend since I suspect a few people will have plans to watch the pageant. Still, if they are doing so locally, it's an excellent opportunity to stock up on some excellent picnic stuff!

Applespider,
I don't think the pageant starts until 2pm, after the food fair has finished. I'll be going to the pageant via Forest Hill station, so crepes and cakes for lunch!
