There used to be this marvellous emporium, known as Bucks Warehouse, up near Surrey Quays, where they sold, at knock-down prices, all the furniture that had been ordered, but couldn't be delivered, from various suppliers, including M&S.

I was sure I knew where it was, but drove up and down Evelyn Street without success, and their phone number doesn't answer. Does this mean they no longer exist? They weren't a small, independent organisation, but part of the Hays Group, so maybe they have moved elsewhere.

I appeal to the vast collected knowledge of se23.com for information ....

Unfortunately it's been gone for a few years. It was a great place for picking up good quality furniture and don't know of anything similar in the area.

It was a great place and a real find, although before it went completely, I think it may have changed hands and there really was just 'tat' in there.

For a while a similar place sprung up at the industrial estate close to the Sydenham Savacentre, but that didn't seem to last long - but did advertise other locations. Not that I can remember what they called themselves.

But we'd also interested - if anyone has any alternative suggestions.
