I would never feel guilty walking past any shop down the highstreet holding a Sainsbury's bag. What they should do if they saw me holding one should think to themselves 'why is that person holding a sainsbury's bag and not shoping in my shop? Maybe I better spruce my place up a bit, make it a more pleasant environment to shop and stock some things that are needed by local people (who don't have the time, transport or inclination to travel to a distant supermarket) like fresh fruit & veg and fresh meat.'

A major supermarket chain having a small 'local' on our highstreet is no bad thing, I never shop in any of the small newsagent shops anyway for the reasons i've mentioned above.
