Hi
Just a question out of curiosity.. does anyone know who is occupying the old Natwest (?) bank on Dartmouth Road (next to the Sylvan Post/Job Centre)..
Sometimes it has lights on inside..

Years ago maybe 15? someone bought it and converted it into an Art Gallery as I believe their wife was an artist? however, they then said the Business Rate was too high (this is not set by the Council) and that they could not afford to run it, since then it has been empty which is a pity really, lets hope the owner proposes tol do something positive with it, I suppose it could be converted to residential use?

Ahhh ok.. thanks!
Shame, would've been a great spot for the Sylvan Post instead of the post office..better building/more character.. but hey, at least we're getting somewhere with Dartmouth Rd..

I heard that it is being used to teach production of jewellery, but I can't remember the source of this information, so I cannot vouch for the accuracy.
It used to be the Midland Bank.
I agree that it would make an excellent site for a gallery/cafe.

I believe a few years ago the guys from teh Question bar were looking into turning it into a cafe. It is such a good spot, it is a shame it has not been utilised.
