I'm a trespasser from the Sydenham Town Forum! A few of us who post on the Sydenham Town Forum play five-a-side football on Wednesdays, and we're on the look out for some new players. We thought we'd spread the net a little wider...

The standard is fair (with occasional flashes of genius) and the attitude is enthusiastic but not win at all costs. We play on astroturf at Goals on Copers Cope Road in Beckenham/Lower Sydenham. We mix up the teams each week so that we get a reasonably evenly matched game. Kick off is 8:30pm and we play for 60-90 minutes before retiring to the bar for a quick drink and some post-match analysis.

It would be great to see some new players. If you're interested but think you might struggle to get to the venue we can probably pick you up from a nearby station or bus stop.

Do post on the Sydenham Town Forum (www.sydenham.org.uk/forum, then click on "Town Sports Centre" and then on "5-a-side footie") if you're interested. Alternatively, feel free to PM me (biscuitman1978) on the Sydenham Town Forum or this forum.

We're still on the lookout for new players! See my post at the top of this thread for more info.

There's no need to commit to playing every week; anyone who wants to play occasionally is very welcome.

Hi. Is there open football, does anyone know, in Dulwich area specifically on the astroturf at Dulwich College? I vaguely remember something about this on a Sunday morning but can't find the details now.
thanks

Hi there, are you still on the look out for players ? I'd be interested in playing if so, looking for a fair standard, friendly people and keeping fit!
Cheers,
Ross

@Davinia: Both men and women are very welcome. At the moment it's all males, but females have played in the past.

Hi,

Is this still an active post and are you still looking for players. Looking to play some 5-a-side near Forest Hill/Sydenham.

Thanks

Hi Mg

The Sydenham five-a-side is still going strong, although I no longer play as I've moved away from the area (apart from the odd guest appearance at Christmas!).

I think new players are always welcome, so do post your interest at https://www.sydenham.org.uk/forum/ (Town Stadium and then 5-a-side footie). You can PM 'Middlesbrough' on that forum if you'd like more info, as he runs it now.
