I think Forest Hill needs to decide what it wants to be
How can geographical expressions 'decide' things - and then make them happen?

Presumably, Perryman, that's because you'd like to swap your train commute for a canoet?
Happy New Year FH!

To answer Robin,
Local traders groups, residents associations, shops, friends of groups, local civic societies etc can help influence how an area develops. Having a clear strategy and how a place evolves can be a very powerful tool for development.
And happy new year!

How about putting a pedestrian crossing arrangement in place at the station like the one at oxford circus/soon-to-be tottenham court road?

More nice independent shops, a good fruit and veg shop, fish shop, bakery. a couple of arty stag and bow type places would suit me fine, especially if they sold the work of local artists and designers etc.
A decent inexpensive healthy resturant that is open in the evening would be nice.
I really like the area and have few complaints except for the amount of vile chicken takeaway type places.

Having a sensible, agreed and funded strategy for how Forest Hill/Honor Oak will deal with the inevitable increase in traffic caused by access (which is wonderful) to the tube system. If we don't we shall all spend our time forever circling local streets looking for the elusive last parking place.
