About 20 mins ago I heard an a helicopter circling very low over the London Road area of Forest Hill, when I looked out of my window it was a red 'Virgin' helicopter which I assume must be an air ambulance, it looked as if I went and Landed in The Sainsburys sort of area of London road or there abouts-have'nt heard it take off yet. Anyone know whats going on?

All I can say is that it was a superb bit of flying. They threaded the HEMS helicopter down Manor Mount low over the roofs and landed in the Sainsburys car park between all the light posts.

Was told by one of the station staff that a lady had jumped under the train as it was arriving on the London Bridge-bound side just before 4pm. She was taken away in an ambulance (not the helicopter) but only seemed like she had minor injuries.

Timing seems out, but rest seems plausable.
HEMS was over FH around 3.30

Yes It looked like it was landing in that kind of area-was it an accident? I must have just missed it thank heavens-I pity the poor souls trying to get home tonight. Luckily I had the day off work otherwise I'd be one of those stranded at Canada Water.

I must've walked on to the platform just after it had happened, because two passengers were lying on their stomachs talking to or trying to give reassurance to whoever was trapped under the train.
The poor driver too - I saw him get out of the cab and walk along the platform to investigate.
All very surreal.
Was also very impressed the way the helicopter landed.

I was surprised, in retrospect, they were still letting people through the barriers but I got the impression people were understandably in a bit of daze and it was only just sinking in what had happened.
At first I thought someone had dropped some valuables down the gap until I asked someone and they said 'No, there's a person under there'.
It felt inappropriate to be waiting there and just watching on the sidelines, plus I felt we likely to be obstructing the emergency services as they were arriving, so I got out the way.
My sympathies to all affected by this.

I came through the station at 5:45 having travelled via Canada water and all seemed to be working fine - no announcents of delays or anything.

so glad, someone jumping /falling under a train didn't inconvenience anyone too much! don't know if people meant to be sardonic or not!

These tragedies ( I know that it wasn't in this case) start to happen at this time of year. Hopefully not too many more but I doubt it somehow.

What chance have we got to increase use of the Perry Vale car park when even the air ambulance won't land there?
