I went into Foxtons to see about finding a place to rent for around ?650 a month in January 2008.
Given a cup of coffee(very nice), spent ages given details then to bethen told they wanted ?320 to find me somewhere!
Having rented properties in London for the past 8 yrs not one other agency wanted more than ?100 so where on earth do they get their prices from!? Could be to pay for the snazzy chairs?
Told the girl that it was absolutely a rip off and thanked her for the coffee and left!
Found somewhere on Gumtree-absolutely lovely place/spot on rent/good landlord in Forest Hill for 'nowt'!

Also my friend stupidly went to another branch of Foxtons to let her place late last year-first tenants left after a month without paying, they then presuaded her to sign an agreement to manage it aswell and 2nd lot have yet to pay the rent and they 'lost' ?900 fee for the first lot which they owed to her for nearly two months. !THEY STINK!

Well this seems to have been checked out by virtually everyone registered on this site - check out http://www.howtocomplain.com/cgi-php/company.php3 and we could do a mass complaint (they did not respond to my single ones). Am I being unfair? See my moan moan thread in case this is confusing.

Couldn'd find any response from the Foxtons' Website

Actually, its about their agreements with their landlords, not tenancy agreements which are more regulated by law. They seem to be seeking a return for no work. No surprise there then.

The time before last that I got one of their letters inviting me to sell my flat I phoned them up sounding all excited, kept them on for two minutes, then asked if my landlord might be upset with me. The bloke shouted at me for wasting his time. BUT IT'S FINE FOR YOU TO SEND ME ENDLESS UNTARGETED MAILSHOTS, EH?

I was genuinely glad to see that the Dulwichites are still shopping in Lordship Lane on a wet Saturday. But almost tempted to go into the empty Foxtons to sympathise with the staff and share a beer.
