The Challenge is on…

To find evidence of links with all 206 Participating Nations (in the 206 Olympic and Paralympics) across the UK!

What links are on our doorstep? Share them and they’ll put your links on the map for everyone to see

I guess Horniman and links to Africa, Janusz Korczak and Poland, Dietrich Bonhoffer and Germany.

Any others?

I was going to suggest the connection between Antarctica and Dacres Wood Nature Reserve, which was one of Shackleton's first expedition according to Steve Grindlay. Unfortunately Antarctica is not yet an Olympic nation.

It is a strange list that includes a connection to Germany due to a statue in Edinburgh for James Clark Maxwell, whose work was 'a big influence on the German-born physicist Albert Einstein'. They also include Bletchley Park in the list of sites with a connection to Germany, having broken their enigma codes there in the 1940s.
