Can anyone recommend the best place place in Forest Hill/Honor Oak to get views over london on bonfire night? Hoping to catch some of the various fireworks displays that are on. Any advice/opinion appreciated!

My friend's back garden on Overhill Road! He has the most amazing view - you can see a few display's going on all at once - you can see as far as Wembley! Failing that - I'm planning on going a little bit further to Blackheath.

I'd offer our upstairs bedrooms but I dont know you so I'll just suggest Canonbie Road where you can see everything and anything.

Blythe Hill Fields is good, has a fantastic view over Canary Wharf and the majority of the East side of London on any day. A lot of people go there I think on fireworks night

I'm not convinced that watching fireworks from a distance is the best way to see them. It can be quite amusing to stand on Canonbie and watch the fireworks below you. But I think you miss out on some of the excitement of being a bit closer.

In the last couple of years there have been good displays from somewhere close to FH town centre, probably All Inn One. If they are having a display it might be worth going to that.

Blythe Hill does sound like a sensible compromise location as you should get a good view of Blackheath from there, as well as other displays.
