I accidentally locked myself out of my house a few years back (putting the bins out and pulled the door behind me thinking I had my keys - I didn't) - the locksmith got in to the house so quickly I have always been very aware of the need to make sure that the deadlock is on when we're out or at night - yale lock (or similar) just isn't sufficient security.
