There is a similar sourdough restaurant in Balham. Apparently, it is rammed every night. Great news.

Yes, everyones support on Domino's campaign was brilliant and has paid off. It looks like we, at long last have a business that will work well at this site and be a great addition to HOP Thumbsup

The Sodo folks are already on site starting work. Had a chat with them earlier. They are planning on a restaurant area where you can reserve tables, plus a more casual bar / open kitchen area serving drinks / pizza and for pizza collection. They will look to team up with local fresh produce and beer suppliers, which is great news all round!

Perhaps they can get their charcuterie from The Butchery in Forest Hill - that'd be a nice partnership!

Great news. To be fair I was hoping for a really nice pub on that site, but this is deffo a good win for the area.

Apart from it being a pub, I think this is probably as near as dammit to being the best outcome for this site and for the area and the community. So, yes, I agree that everyone who campaigned hard against Dominos deserves a big pat on the back.

More controversially though, I think people should give the 'greedy' landlord a pat on the back too for not buckling under the pressure and holding out for the right tenant at [what must be] the right rent.

(I'm taking cover now!)

Looked like they were still working early evening last night, does anyone know an estimated opening date?

Ach, why can't it be sooner! (I know, I know - you can see them working in there). I'm just impatient.

Thanks for the link to the photos BarCar.

The place is even more beautiful than I remembered - it's stunning!

To think of all the ranting and raving about how greedy the landlord was being with his asking price for such a gem.

What, I think, was a shame is that Dominos Pizza were previously the only ones who had the foresight and the balls to see this unique prospect as a viable business opportunity but, thank goodness, these new people have gone for it in the end.

Apparently they are quite likely to open next week.
