Each of Lewisham's 18 wards will soon have its own LOCAL ASSEMBLY. Regular meetings will enable everyone in the ward to come along and talk about what really matters to them. Each assembly will also decide how to spend a special Locality Fund (this year worth ?10,000)
Any ideas how we should spend ours? Maybe a speed camera on London Rd or something to capture the Manor Mount mavericks?

I think that all the local councillors should get together and have a really nice meal in a posh restaurant in London, like the Ivy or similar to discuss an agenda for a further meeting. The further meeting should then be over period of several days in the nice hotel like the Grand in Brighton, where the main topic is the development of the Forest Hill pools. Nothing should be agreed and all the money should be spent. How does that sound?

Traffic calming on London Road would get my vote.. make it a 20mph zone.

London Road is one of the few roads in Lewisham that will not be 20mph. Most of the other (controlled by Lewisham council) will have this limit.

Personally I think it is ridiculous to introduce schemes like this when they can't be bothered [sorry that should read 'can't afford'] to enforce people going the wrong way down Manor Mount or going well over 30 mph on Kirkdale. Why not have a speed limit of 5mph on all roads and not bother to enforce that?
