Yes , like Greyhound in Sydenham , so easy for devolpers without planning permission to let the state of the building detiorate to the state that not easy to save it in the original form.
This is a major fault of the planning system which anyway seems to favour the devolpment .
The best of luck.

So annoying that they continue to behave like this, and continue to be allowed to continue trading. Once can be accepted as an oversight, do it again... no more trading!
The bit that worries me is the potential of what could happen if 14 goes too.
Looking at the land involved, and the ownership of the remaining properties, im worried that it would not be hard to suddenly find themselves with a LARGE plot of land that has the potential to be a large "villas" type development, almost on par with FHC

Its been a while since I said anything about this place, but im getting worried.
Over recent weeks skip after skip of earth/clay has come out from the site but little of any substance has gone back in.
I know they have plans for a garden flat but I can see this house going into the ground like 6 Church Rise did.

These pics were taken atleast 1 week apart.
The other wierd thing is it appears there are a number of chinese workers living on site too. Thats how it looks anyway.
I hope im wrong about the house, but building control have not responded to my email about my concerns, so I thought I would put them on the record here.

It's a handsome building.
I haven't seen it for a while. Have the left the original windows and the rather beautiful original door intact?

still more comes out, and still no reply from building control. Looks like FH might lose another lovely piece of history. Lets hope not.
Shame the fencing is SO high 360 degrees around the place, cant even peep in to see whats going on in there.

Can't you even see past the hoardings when they're working there during the day? I tried to have a look when I walked past a couple of months ago but it was a Sunday so the gates were closed. I thought maybe the gates would be open during the day.
Have you tried contacting John Paschoud, the local councillor with an interest in planning?

Yup I heard Earlsfield had gone, but also heard there was an attempt to try and take over the work they were currently working on. Chances are, same plans different MD's.
I expected similar too, being able to see in there from time to time, but they are careful not to let much be seen.
The main concern is the lack of anything going in there. This is EXACTLY how 6 CR went, dig dig dig then a little foundation way too late.
I have not contacted anyone externally, mainly because I dont have a clue who to or how to, other than Building Control.

If you want to look over the fence, try catching a bus

Camera on a pole maybe? Its round the back that interests me, as I think thats where they are digging under the house from.

Well.... recent days have definatly seen things going INTO the site for once, including concrete and lots of structural scaffolding. Interesting to see the house internally and externally braced now.
Sadly it does appear that much large cracks and sags are beginning to appear in the property. Especially at the front on and above the bay windows.
The top window above the front door has not has the frame removed and loose brick work removed too, but now appears to be cracking more too.
Still got my fingers crossed here. Its slow and painful to watch a house like this. But surely before you start digging all the foundations out, you at least begin suring the house up to support it, not after you have dug.

Looks like they have taken a massive chunk of the front of the house off, above the bay window. I really hope they know what they are doing!

Can we avoid speculation if people could be seriously hurt (only saying this because of what I have seen happen on other forums).
I just hope everybody is okay at the moment.

Sorry, didnt mean to get chins wagging.
Just stuck at work in Vauxhall right now, and heard it was something very major with a lot of emergency services in attendance. Assumed fire, but since been confirmed it IS a building collapse with builders still believed to be trapped inside.
Just wondered if anyone else local had any word on things.
