Anyone recognize this house , given a spread in 'The Independent' today? Said to be in a conservation area, in a street 'lined with fine period homes'.

It took me a few minutes, but I know where it is as I walked past it for many years.
I won't spoil the fun for others by revealing the location - yet.

Noticed it a while ago. It's amazing how much effect such simple things have had.

If you know where it is you can see the previous frontage on Google streetview. I have placed it below as a clue to where it might be.

I would have preferred it if the brick work was cleaned and re-pointed rather than to paint out the properties character. Painting brick work seems to remove the natural beauty. One could argue that it is more cost affective to paint over the true identity of the building however I really do feel that they have removed it's architectural fingerprint by doing so.

There were people taking photographs of it again as I passed this lunchtime.
Meh, it's not for me. I've always lusted after the mock Tudor pile more or less opposite.

Hoona,
Would it help if I gave you a clue? This might be one way to help, I just need to make one up without pointing you in the wrong direction.

Robin,
Have you managed to manipulate this mystery based on the messages or are you still missing the meaning?
