right
i can see why the price sound cheap
there are service charges (even though it does include ch)
and short leases

as always when it sounds too good to be true most probably it is Thumbsup

anyway, must stick to plan and a garden, mustn't get side tracked by the cool feel of 30s architecture Rolleyes

need to revive my green thumb

I love Honor Oak Park but there is not way I'm sending my daughter a primary school in London. Over subscribed, and dangerous.

As soon as she is old enough for school we are moving out to Kent,[/align]

Think thats a wee bot over the top, calling schools in London to dangerous, yes they have their problems, however are no worse than in any other part of the UK

IWAF

Not an outside or any chance of a place at Fairlawn School anywhere near the south side of London Road. May have been the case a number of years ago when there were a lot less children around but not now.

Not that its a problem :-), as has been discussed already

Primary schools unsafe??? My daughter goes to Horniman Primary and the most unsafe I have felt there is when being buzzed by a bee.Unsure

The local authority will be obliged to provide a place when you reside in Lewisham.

If you want to get socially involved in Forest Hill you can join the Forest Hill Society which only charges £5 per year. Look up their WEB site

Yes, it's often difficult to get your first choice primary school. But this needn't be the end of the world.

There's no need to move to Kent to find good schools. Every single primary school in SE23 and SE26 which took the test, passed the basic numeracy and literacy tests, earlier this year.

We have some great primary schools in this area!

thanx everybody for input
Today is all a bit clearer. I have spoken to more HT.
I do not have a favourite as such (I havent seen any of the school myself)
but say I have 2 school in mind, fully booked, no chance. Than Lea willl offer a place base on what is available.
As I have to get a house. possibly end of March, how can I pick an area if I do not know where "I need to be?"
a) closest to number 1 school (even if its the most difficult to get in?)
b) closer to schools who have a place as I am told by LEA (and not good reviews)?
c) choose the best spot / flat I can find for my budget and hell with it ?
