Very loud bangs last night

Did anyone else hear 5 or 6 extremely loud bangs last night at around midnight in the Horniman area? They were each about a minute apart and sounded (in my sleep-addled mind) like shotgun blasts. Definitely wasn't a dream as the boyfriend also heard them.

I heard those too, and we live on the other side of the tracks. I've only just remembered them as they only half woke me up. Wonder what it was...

I think fireworks were going off as I saw flashes too. It was very loud up Taymount Rise so I assumed the origin was very close by.

I've seen shotgun cartridges in sydenham woods a few times, pretty deteriorated mind but still spent shells.
