Did anyone else hear 5 or 6 extremely loud bangs last night at around midnight in the Horniman area? They were each about a minute apart and sounded (in my sleep-addled mind) like shotgun blasts. Definitely wasn't a dream as the boyfriend also heard them.

I heard those too, and we live on the other side of the tracks. I've only just remembered them as they only half woke me up. Wonder what it was...

But don't tell anyone.

I think fireworks were going off as I saw flashes too. It was very loud up Taymount Rise so I assumed the origin was very close by.

I've seen shotgun cartridges in sydenham woods a few times, pretty deteriorated mind but still spent shells.
