I had not heard that they were considering scrapping free travel for children but this would be great in making bus travel at certain times civilised again.

When I was young you got free travel if your school was 3 miles or over from home. I think that could be reduced to 2 miles.

I agree I have seen many Forest Hill Boys get on at Slatters in Sydenham Rd to return to the school after lunch usually scoffing large pies.
Not sure how they get out at lunchtime , I am sure we were not allowed out.
