So I am new to the area and figured that I should start a topic on here!

What better to talk about then the snow!!!! ]

How many of you still have Ice on your pavements! I must say my road being a hill and a cut through rd I thought it would have been gritted but NO it was like an ice rink out there. What happen to the old days when we had a salt box at the end of each rd!

If you have a dishwasher make sure it is well stocked up with salt prior to the snowfall!
There won't be any in the shops while there is snow on the ground. It's a strange world.

Over the shoe crampons are now for sale in Finches.

They are so discreet no one would ever know you were wearing such unfashionable items. You can even keep your own shoes on.

Enough to put a ho ho ho in someones stocking I know but its actually quite nice to get out and about in snow so if you need these to enjoy doing so and to be safe then its money worth spending. I believe the ones Finches have are better and less costly than some of the ones marketed on the internet for snowy footpaths.

I've come across too many people recently with various injuries caused by slipping that I don't intend to be one of them!

Hi Roz,
Could you give a rough estimate as to the price of these over-the-shoe crampons please?
Too busy to get into the store at the moment to find out.
Thanks in advance Smile

Sue

PS A PM will be fine

Roz - was that you I saw coming out of Finches this morning (it was the double buggy that made me wonder)? They only have a handful of those over the shoes crampons left, in the large size. I got a pair for my other half as he will be skating his way to FH station next week while me and the kids languish in bed.

I'm on the 33rd floor in Canary Wharf and can advise a heavy snowfall which is settling in Docklands. Presumably the same in SE23? Promises to be an "interesting" journey back, especially as the bad weather was forecast for Sat, not today.

Looking out towards Canary Wharf from hilly SE23, the wharf is whitted out, it's either very low cloud or the wharf is having heavy snow?
