For the vast majority of the day, that concept seems to work in our favour with cheaper PAYG fares with those 8tph which means we have up to 7.5mins wait at Whitechapel, Shadwell or Canada Water compared to the 15 min wait at London Bridge.

Quite frankly everyone on the ELL route has been short changed, under LUL control, trains would finish an hour later than they do under LOROL.

Also if you decide to come home from a night out and have to use the tube, passenegers will end up paying £3.10 instead of £2.40 thanks to the TfL/NR combined fare at London Bridge/Waterloo East/Charing Cross if you miss the final ELL train at Canada Water.

This morning I tried to buy a weekly travelcard on my oyster at the ticket machine. I was issued a receipt, but the ticket wasnt loaded onto my oyster card. Not realising this (well who would, when you have a receipt) I went through the gates and I noticed that money had come off my card. I spoke to the guy at the gates - missing two trains in the process, and he told me that I had to go to London Bridge. I went there, and the bloke there sold me a travelcard and told me to contact oyster for my refund of the journey from forest hill and national rail for the refund from the ticket machine. I rang oyster, who said that they had to send me through to national rail as it wasnt their fault, I then rang national rail who said it was london overground. I rang them, but seemingly they only work 7 hours a day and were closed when I got around to ringing them.

My one trip has cost me 3 x 0845 calls, 2 x £30.20 travel cards and 1 x journey to London Bridge so far.. and a whole bunch of frustration.

Anyone here know where I have to go to get my money back?

I had this problem last year when doing the same - however i was travelling from Tooting to London Bridge

I went onto the tube web page [ TFL ] and emailed them with all the details, also threatened them that i would take up with my local MP, who very luckily is the Minister of Transport, plus emailed Boris, low & behold, within 10 days i received a cheque

Hope this works for you

Has anyone got an update on when the platform 1 at Honor Oak Park train station will be sorted?

I'm so looking forward to the 7:12am from Forest Hill to London Bridge next Monday. I expect that few people will realise that this 20 minute gap has been closed.

At least I'll get a seat in one direction. With a cut to 1/3 of trains coming home I'm expecting to be squashed on a daily basis.

Can I plead with anybody travelling home on the Jubilee Line to change at Canada Water rather than London Bridge. This will better spread the load and provide you with more frequent trains home and an easier interchange.

I wont be missing the 0859 to London Bridge, lucky to get a seat, but the small train and poor seating arrangments make it a crampt 15 min journey up.

The question is, will I get a seat on the 0904 to Dalston on Monday or do I look forward to standing all the way to work?

Why the 17 minute gap during rush hour!?

17:36SN 17:53SN

I was praying that they would replace the 17:51/17:55 with a 17:45 and a 17:55. Guess not then.

Are we stuck with this, or is there any hope at all that the timetable will be revised again?

And is the new timetable available online?

Both Southern and London Overground have promised to look at the timetable in the future, however the earliest any change on Southern would be in December when the next National Rail timetable comes into operation.

The idea is that passengers from Central London already on tube services continue their journey to Canada Water where trains run every 7.5 mins instead of London Bridge reliving pressure on those precious 4tph Southern services.

Ghis: The timetable for platform 1 at Honor Oak to be sorted is as, "In due course".

Brockley Central's blog claims the last train from Canada Water is at 0017.

After checking the National Rail Enquiries site, the last train is 2356 Mon-Sat. Not even a past midnight service on Fri/Sat's anymore.

Elizabeth25, the 17 minute gap is so they have enough time to squeeze all the people onto the 17.53, take some off to give them mouth to mouth, push them back on again and wave that 4 carriage nightmare away with a sodden handkerchief. I'm guessing. But I hope I'm wrong.

Being 2 minutes earlier than the existing 17.55 means I'll probably miss it each day now too, as I have to rush to get that, meaning I miss an extra 11 minutes of my baby's waking life each working day - 4 hours per month, 2 whole days per year. I demand a refund! And a seat.

Jon, I'd demand a pay rise so you can stand on the Jubilee and the ELL instead!

If this becomes a travel nightmare - I urge everyone to complain and not to let it go. The expectation is that the load should be reduced by the new Overground line - we shall see.

Refering to my own post about the final ELL train from Canada Water, the 0017 only runs on Friday evenings. 2356 is the final train on Mon-Thurs and Saturday.

Are the four tph from London bridge in the evening peak going to be just 4 carriages?

I now have a HD camera and will endeavour to film any chaos.

There's bound to be chaos at the beginning. But I'm hoping it'll work itself out - things often do. If it's really horrendus, people will carry on to canada water on the tube. The people that will want to keep using the Southern services the most are the ones that don't already use the underground. I'm not sure what % of passengers this is. Of course others will want to as well, but if it really is bad (i.e, can't get on the train bad) it won't take too long before people abandon it for the ELL.

But I wouldn't be surprised if it's dreadful in the first instance - especially if the 4 tph are cut down to 4 carriages.

I'd agree with that, what we'll probably see are those using Southern in the evening peak to be National Rail customers who use Charing Cross/Cannon Street or Thameslink services changing instead of tube passengers from the West End who'll now use Canada Water instead, or work within walking distance to LB.

4 carriges! You've got to be kidding me. Surely the trains from LB are going to be longer than that?
