I make it 1.08km or 0.67 miles from Shoreditch High Street Station to Liverpool Street Station (Underground) measuring using Google Earth. To do that in precisely 5 minutes requires you to travel at 8.2 mph - which is a good jogging speed on London's crowded pavements! Well done Nasaroc!

An increase from 10 trains to 19 after 10 pm has to be good news doesn't it, even if it isn't everything everybody might have hoped for?

And post May 23, the last Southern train leaves London Bridge later - at 00:36 according to the published timetable. rather than 00:26 now.

As Shoreditch High Street is 5 mins walk from Liverpool Street, will Oyster PAYG users be allowed to transfer onto tube/national rail services without being charged twice?

Re the strike, I posted yesterday in this thread that no trains would stop at HOP, trains are fast from Forest Hill to LB, but as they're starting from Caterham or Sutton, expect them to be standing room only by the time they get to us.

In any case, Network Rail are talking legal action against the RMT to stop the strikes.

There is an obscure list of 'out of station interchanges' where you can change without breaking your Oyster journey, together with a time allowance for making the change. The list can be accessed here Out of Station Interchanges. This list apparently contains the post ELL opening interchanges. It doesn't include Shoreditch High Street to Liverpool Street.

Thanks for that andrewr, I see you can change between Dalston Junction and Dalston Kingsland for NLL services, but not the obvious one at Shoreditch.

Apparently the plan for Shoreditch High Street was to have it in Zone 2, but instead they decided to overcharge South Londoners by adding it to Zone 1 and East Londoners get charged a Zone 2 fare for using stations between Dalston and Wapping.

Incidentally as it's Easter, we have engineering works between Sydenham and Norwood Junction southbound only. 4tph will run to Victoria on those days replacing the Sutton service with a replacement bus service from Crystal Palace. Northbound is not affected. A Sat service will run on Friday. Didn't see what will happen on Monday with regards to frequency, but I expect a Sunday timetable then.

Tricky: No, no trains at all from HOP during the strike. For the others make sure you are travelling well before 7pm to get home. Having spoken to a friend who will be on strike next week, he said that if anything goes wrong with the signaling, they will not go out to fix it and he doubt it will get fixed at all so the number of trains on the link may be reduced even more or service cut completely if things go wrong.

Those late ELL times are pants.

For those of you considering using Catford Bridge, Lower Sydenham or Ladywell instead during the strike, forget it, SouthEastern are not running services during the strike on the whole Hayes line.

However there are 2tph on the Catford loop line from Catford and Crofton Park to Victoria.

Revised timetable tomorrow, 5tph to London Bridge, 2ph to Victoria and nothing else. Be advised if you're travelling from LB, there are only 2tph to FH at 24 and 54 past the hour although the two final trains at 2353 and 0026 will operate as to the normal Saturday timetable if you're on a night out.

That's better than the Southern staff at LB. They told me there were 4 tph for Forest Hill running a Sunday service and I was about to get on the XX:14 (on platform 8 as told to by a member of staff at the gates) when I noticed it was fast to Sydenham.

TfL expect 50,000 of us per day on our line to switch to the ELL.

Well yes, but it does tend to me more convenient for the travelling public and us drivers to know where and when to start braking for stations, signals and speed limits!

And as far as I am aware, the opening date for the ELL "Core Route" between New Cross Gate/New Cross and Dalston Junction will be on April 8th, however, the date has not been confirmed yet as the date still has the potential to slip back.

The rest of the route to West Croydon and Crystal Palace is on schedule to be introduced into the new network timetable which will be launched on Sunday 23rd May.

The usually reliable London Reconnections blog is hinting at a 15th April soft launch between NXG and Dalston.
