Thank you for your letter of September 24 from which I understand that you still have concerns regarding the removal of Southern services to London Charing Cross station.

Our response was considered with all others to inform the specification the Department for Transport requires us to operate. This specification had to fit around their specification for the Southeastern franchise that resulted in no pathways being available to operate to and from Charing Cross.

I should point out though that part of our response for when the Thameslink Programme is completed, and when work at London Bridge is completed has resulted in four trains per hour direct to and from Thameslink stations; however, this will not until 2016 when the infrastructure will be in place.
