Fantastic that they are all out and safe

Must say that these good people of Chile put some us to shame, not once have they complained, just prayed and got on with the job of getting them out [ with help from the USA ]

The diginty they have shown in this, is I think a lesson for us all

God bless them all

No thanks, of course, to the men and women who actually invented the stuff that got them out and put their lives at risk to get them out. It was all god.

A typical Baboonery response. Is it not possible for God to use means?

Seriously, the elevation of god over the people who actually did the work disgusts me (the Tim Tebow principle). It's understandable on the part of the 33 blokes themselves. Nobody else.

I am so glad that the miners have been saved. The families have played their part not just by praying but by keeping the pressure on everyone they could to get the rescue operation going.

At the same time I feel pain for all those Chinese families whose men get buried alive every year (apparently about 2000 a year) who don't get the media attention.

These people in Chile are very god fearing, just because you dont believe in God, why have a pop at peoples beliefs, if thats what they choose to believe, good luck to them I say

I am surprised Baboonery has not accused God of being racists.

This is a Good Story. Can we not have total agreement that it is very positive.
Many of the Miners seemed to be devout Catholics , so God Bless them

Why?

ForestHillier
Because I find it insulting to the rescue workers.

It's a great story. I'm not sure it should have had blanket coverage for the last 36 hours, but it's undeniably a great story. I just get annoyed when the credit isn't going to the right people. A lot of people have worked very hard on this rescue, all over the world. Five people risked their own lives by going down that hole to help the men up. I'd like to see them getting credit, that's all. Had they been atheists, they'd still have been rescued.

It is good to see that this event has a happy ending for the miners as well as readers of SE23.com who can have their faith in/rejection of God justified.

It just shows you that it is a natural instinct we have to pray when we face or think we face death. Some of those miners were and probably still are self confessed atheists. That's irrelevant.

All these poor people, stuck in a bottomless thread,
terrified they may never escape.

It is hopeless - mods seal this wretched thread up before anyone else falls in.

Yes very droll Perryman

How this has been turned into a joke is beyond me, if others on this forum dont think its not good news that they are all out, then they need urgent help

Yes it was thanks to the fantastic team that got them out

However these miners deserve some sort of praise for thier continued high spirits and the hope from all the people of Chile that they would get out
