Does anyone know if there are any people in FH with official honours or titles such as knighthoods, OBEs and CBEs?

Given that according to Wikipedia there are over 100,000 living members of the Order of the British Empire, it would be rather surprising if there weren't a good number living in SE23!

Hadnt realised Brenda lived locally; great actress! I haven't seen her latest film about the London bombings but will try and go.

Going slightly off subject and apologies for doing so, did anyone see the Heroes concert last night, when you see these girsl/guys, it sure does make you sit up and count your blessings, well it does me anyway, even if you agree or diagree that they [ armed forces ]should be in these Countires, you have to take your hat off to them

Janet Vitmayer, Director of the Horniman Museum gets a OBE today as well as Howard Davies, a resident of SE23.

Congratulations to both of them.

Today's additions to the great and the good, in the Queen's Birthday Honours, include:
Linda Austin, from SE23 and the Headteacher of Swanlea School in Tower Hamlets, who gets an OBE.
Over in SE26 there is a well deserved OBE for Pat Trembath.

Actually I was mistaken. Pat Trembath received an MBE.

Who is Linda Austin please ?
I am sure she has done worthwhile deeds but not heard of the good lady.

Brian - re-read Michael's post. She is from SE23 and ALSO a head teacher in Tower Hamlets.
