The ones with automated systems still have staff and librarians. Libraries are more than places to just get books. Sydenham has a job club, reading groups, mums groups, IT access (free), is used by schools etc.

The council will save £830,000 a year by closing 5 out of 12 libraries.

They will still have to pay to to look after the empty buildings.
