Hi, I just moved in to Honor Oak Park with my gorgeous 9 month old son. Where can I find out what's happening in HOP/FH for mums & babes? I'm totally unfamiliar with the area - although I've explored my immediate surroundings (Duncombe Hill) and found some lovely green spaces.

Thanks, Tracy

Hi Tracy,

Pretty new to area myself but have you been in touch with Lewisham NCT as they are eally good and will give you a list of what is going on in the area and details of coffee mornings etc. Also Honor Oak pub does quite a lot of mum and baby activities. Here is the list of NCT activities.

Worth looking at the events in Forest Hill and Crofton Park as well.

Hi Yogamum,

I'm a new mum in the area and can recommend the baby bounce at crofton park library which is nearby you, Friday mornings at 11am. There is a breastfeeding cafe Wed avos at Eliot Bank Childrens Centre on Thorpewood Ave, no need to have issues with breastfeeding you can turn up for a cup of tea and a chat with other mums. http://www.lewisham.gov.uk/NR/rdonlyres/...el2010.pdf

There's a mums yoga class Mondays at 10.30 am at the Honor Oak Pub I believe but I haven't tried it yet. I think they might also host baby massage classes.

As per Michael's comment it's worth contacting Forest Hill NCT as they organise open houses and other local events. http://www.nct.org.uk/in-your-area/lewis...foresthill

There's plenty of mum's in the area, as you can see when you visit the Horniman museum during the week.

Hope you enjoy your new home and meeting the locals.

Mrs R

Is there a mum out there who would like to write a post about mum and baby activities for the HOP and Beyond blog?

Hi there

There is a very active NCT group in Forest Hill with more than 160 members and they organise get-togethers for parents-to-be and new parents.

The Forest Hill rep sends round a list of things happening in the area regularly to everyone on her mailing list, so drop Roisin a line and get on her list.

Today there was a meet up in the Horniman, so there is always something going on. You dont need to be a member of the NCT to join in.

There's plenty to do and loads of other new parents in se23.

Good luck!
