I just signed up for a Lewisham Library card and one of the benefits is free access to various {online services} including the digital archive of The Time from 1785-1985.

A search for "Honor Oak" reveals the attached letter to the editor from 1895 regarding train services from HOP to London Bridge.

One hundred years of progress - plus ?a change?

In any case - even if you don't want to borrow books the library card gives you access to some pretty useful/interesting services.

That's fantastic, BarCar. I particularly like the, "Yours faithfully, a traveller by the long-time, blighted, and slow-coach railway" sign-off. Smile
