Hi, I want to rent out my flat on Honor Oak road and would prefer to advertise to prospective tenants directly rather than go through an estate agent. I went onto Loot to check out what's out there and there are zero flats to rent in SE23! I know I'm a bit out of it but what's happened? Is everyone really going through estate agents these days? All / any advice would be v welcome! Thank you.

Yes, I agree. Gumtree is better for everything. Not just renting. (they're part of the John lewis Partnership)

Unless they have sold it, gumtree was bought by e-bay in 2005 (greenbee who do insurance type stuff are owned by JL)

That's great, thank you. I've put it up on Gumtree and Houseladder so let's see how it goes. Shame about Loot. They always used to be really good but their search is rubbish and they're clearly trying to cash in. Have a good bank holiday and thanks again!

You're right, I'm wrong. Greenbee is JL. But Gumtree is still very good. I had the right website, but wrong owner.

Thanks all for the recommendations. Flat let through Gumtree to a really nice couple desperate to move to FH from North London...
