5 very different gardens open in Forest Hill Saturday 29th May 6-9pm (6.50 with a glass of wine) and Sunday 30th May 2-6pm (5). Free for accompanied children. Tea and homemade cakes on Sunday. Plants for sale both days. Buy one ticket for all the gardens at The Green at the junction of Hormiman Drive and Liphook Crescent.

Gardens open under the National Gardens Scheme. Proceeds to cancer charities, St Christopher's Hospice and the Marsha Phoenix Trust for homeless girls.

There is a courtyard garden owned by an artist. It's full of unusual plants and her ceramics and sculptures. Another garden is owned by a garden designer and has been featured in national magazines. The other gardens include herbaceous and shrub boarders, a dry garden, low maintenance front gardens, a potager-style vegetable garden, a fruit cage, green houses and wild-life areas.
