A bit more information...

I can tell you that the walk was put together for the Green Chain walking Festival in 2007 and is returning to the London Walks programme after a gap of a year-and-a-half. This will be its fourth outing.

Your guide is a winner of the Blue Badge Guide of the Year award and spent ten years living in Waldenshaw Road. Her walking tour will cover the old canal, the railway, the damage of the blitz, tea and merchants, the Horniman Gardens and the Horniman Museum, where the walk will end.

Regarding your query on "commentary and historical context" both are staples of London Walks.

The walk will cost 7 and 5 for students and seniors with children under 15 going free
