Unfortunately it looks like Crossrail and (more importantly for Forest Hill) Thameslink are under significant financial pressure.

If Thameslink does have cuts to the number of proposed services it will almost certainly be bad news for Forest Hill commuters as we will lose platforms at London Bridge lower level station and we will not get additional services on the Thameslink through to Blackfiars and Kings Cross, these will be taken up by the more profitable Thameslink/First Capital Connect services linking Gatwick to St Pancras International.

I hope that the potential cuts to Thameslink will be opposed by all local civic organisations and politicians.
