I thought Santa could get about in any type of weather and with the trains running this weekend he had more transport options than just the buses and reindeer. Let's hope he can make it to Forest Hill by the 25th, otherwise there will be many upset children in our local pubs.

There are still lots of local shops in Forest Hill well worth a visit for some local Christmas shopping including the artists studios. Karavan is closing down and has some excellent bargains (I didn't want to mention it as I wanted to get there first), and there are plenty of places to get lunch while shopping - Lemon Grove, Dartmouth Arms, Capitol, All in One, and many more.

Just because Lewisham Council has been put off by the rain, does not mean we have to be. I'll see you all in Forest Hill at the weekend!

On the other side of the other railway, Catford outdoor Christmas celebrations are still on:
Saturday 8 December 4pm ? 5pm
Outside Broadway Theatre
Come to Catford's big Christmas lights switch-on by the Christmas tree outside the theatre. Mingle with characters from Aladdin, sing carols and enjoy free mulled wine and mince pies, before seeing the switch-on by one of the Panto celebrities at 4.30pm

So if you want a soggy mince pie and wish to watch drenched zzz-list celebrities using a light switch, you know where to go. (No doubt I'll get accused of being anti-Catford again).
