hi all - we've just moved into the area and are wondering if there is a monthly book group that anyone knows of that would be happy for 2 or 3 of us to join?

Try Bar Equal in Honor Oak - following lifted from their website (needs updating, methinks)

EQUAL 'WRITES' Book Club - The next meeting is on Monday 20 August 'The Testament of Gideon Mack' by James Robertson and on Monday 17 September 'The Color Purple' by Alice Walker.

ana - is that you???

I think the Dartmouth Arms has/had one, too: ask behind the bar.

I've tried asking in the Dartmouth Arms about the book group that meets there, but they have no contact details for them.
Anyone go?

If they're full starting a new one might be an idea: I don't know, but maybe the lemon grove might be up for it, if it's a quiet time?

I enquired about the one in the Dartmouth Arms. The bar person there said that they had asked the group for contact details so they could pass it on to people who enquire about joining but the book club members said they had 10 people and didn't really have any room for any more or it'd be too big and difficult to hear. people I've been to the one in Bar Equal and couple of times and it's good so would recommend that one.
