Its only the new cycle channel that is keeping the old bridge up these days. It badly needs maintenance.

Presumably they meant the siding on the right - the goods yard was on the Perry Vale side surely?
Plus it is not clear to me why the signal box here controlled the points south of Sydenham. I would have thought this signal box's main responsibility was controlling the access in and out of the goods yard.
