Anybody know who the ignorant pigs were letting off a succession of fireworks at 6am this morning in the Taymount Rise/Forestholme Close area? Aren't there laws about when you can and can't let off fireworks?

You beat me too it Sue - I too was rudely awakened this morning. Do these people stay up all night or do they get up especially early?

Ditto. I get up just after 5:30 but still it meant I wasted some time trying to figure out what was going on.

Someone let a firework off in the street about 1 in the morning where I live.
There are laws that restrict fireworks, but I do not know them.

I have just realised that we all heard them despite being quite far away. We are near Blythe Hill end it was near 5:45am.

I got out of bed and looked out of the window - and did actually see the fireworks. I'd have said they were further up the hill than Woodcombe Crescent - maybe Benson or Tyson Roads?

I think it may have come from the open land between Tyson and Dunoon Roads. It's an unusual time for that sort of thing to happen - kids messing about with fireworks usually do so in the evening, not 6AM in the morning. It's annoying, but it's nowhere near as bad as it was before new restrictions on the sale of fireworks were introduced about 3-4 years ago. It used to happen on a regular basis from October through to January.

I looked out of the upstairs window and saw the flash of the firecrackers in Woodcombe- also the kids who let them off ran screaming past our house a few minutes later.

You clearly live on the all new wrong side of the tracks - North of London Road, or NOLO
