Well that's too close for comfort - and I do mean the bearded Scot part.

My comments were intended to maintain this thread as a child-free zone.

AIO/Foresters is child-friendly, however Connect-Four challenges do get vigorous and new competitors are always welcome.

I look forward to saying hello.

What an enclave of Scottishness! I am also a Scot but without a beard - luckily since I'm female!

I guess I'll see you down there around 1pm Smile

I'm a Swede...also without a beard Smile

I booked 2 tables of 4 yesterday (couldn't get 1 table for 8) for 1pm. Looking forward it!

Annie

Must apologise for not making it down yesterday.

I ended up going to a neighbour's party on Saturday evening and having several ridiculously large G&Ts and not getting to bed til 4am

Didn't really feel human again until Sunday afternoon. :o

I ended up being dragged into work so couldn't make it either. How was the Sunday lunch, folks? Smile

Gorgeous!! Was lovely to put faces to a couple of names as well....very nice indeed Smile

It was my second Sunday on the trot that I had the roast lamb and I would definitely recommend it. With an open fire in the restaurant as well, it's just sooo cosy. I'll be going back.

I had a great time, as did my family (including a 2 year-old in a pub - shock! horror!)

It was great to me Ananas and her friends, and also jgdoherty and his entourage.

Shame more of you could not come along as the food was fabulous. My wife is not a big fan of roast meals in pubs, but she said it was probably the best roast she has ever had when eating out. I think we'll be back (I need to explore the wine list too)!

Happy Birthday SE23.com - long may it serve to bring the community together and to support decent local businesses like this.

It all sounds very grand having an entourage.

It was a real pleasure to meet friends and family of forum members.

We ate later than robwinton and ananas - and we enjoyed our meal too, the roasts and the fresh yorkshire puds were excellent along with some beautiful partridge.

I would join robwinton in wishing se23.com all the best on its 5th anniversary and for its future success..

And for all of you (all those who attended and those who got excuse notes signed by their mum) can I wish you all the best for the holiday season.

And no shock ! horror !! a certain little two year old entranced us all - not least because she was impeccably behaved.
