Received from local police:

Quote:
I hope this finds you well!
I wanted to make you aware of an event coming up at the Horniman Museum on Friday 5th September between 1pm and 2:30pm.
The team are very aware that motor vehicle offences have been on the increase for a while now, this is something that the team focus heavily on due to the impact it has on the victims. Since last year, Forest Hill and Perry Vale Ward have recovered over 300 stolen vehicles, this is the highest amount of stolen vehicles which have been recovered by any Safer Neighbourhood Team on any wards within the Lewisham Borough.

Due to the rise of motor vehicle crime, this event will focus on vehicle marking, this entails a completely unique reference number being permanently deposited on the rear windscreen of your vehicle. The kits used cost over £60, but we will be doing this completely free of charge for anyone who wishes to come along. The team are also going to be providing extensive crime prevention advice regarding vehicle crime.

For anyone who may be interested in having this done, may I request that your vehicles are driven to the rear exit of the Museum which is located on Horniman Drive, this is in order to avoid any congestion on London Road.

I really hope as many of you as possible can make it.

Regards,

PC HASSAN

Did anyone have any luck with this? I went along at 1.30pm and there were a few local residents still waiting for the police to turn up, but I couldn't wait around for long.
