I am Sergeant Munday from Forest Hill, Perry Vale and Crofton Park Neighbourhood Team and today i wanted to reach out to introduce you to "MetEngage", a new two way communication tool between the Police and the local community.

As part of the Met's aim to promote More Trust, Less Crime and High Standards, MetEngage has been created in order to increase and promote communication between the Police and also the communities. MetEngage is a free, easy to use tool whereby you can sign up and receive the following features -

- Focused email alerts to specific neighbourhoods or interest groups, and allows you to respond direct to us with a messaging feature.

- Survey tools that enable officers to understand local issues and enables community members to tell us where crimes and anti-social behaviour are happening in their area.

- Ability to focus reassurance patrols or engagement to specific communities, and understand gaps in engagement and to show Police are listening and responding to individuals/communities – ‘You said, We did’

- Translate messages into 100+ languages

- Engagement tracker to monitor community meetings, surgeries (physical and online), community events

- Enables crime fighting through crime appeals, circulation of missing persons and wanted people.

- It provides the ability to map private CCTV or ring doorbell across your borough.

- Provide crime prevention and investigations updates

MetEngage is a great tool for that more direct communication with your teams. The tool will go live from the 23rd June for local teams however you can sign up, for free, at www.metengage.co.uk where you can complete the sign up form and join the growing community.

I look forward to working closely with you all and if you no longer reside in the ward, check out your local Police Teams website aswell as your relevant force may also be involved in a similar tool.

Have a great Summer!

Regards,

Nathan Munday
Sergeant
