Hi,
My partner and I are planning to move to forest hill this year and are looking at properties around mayow road, dacres road, inglemere road etc - does anyone know if these are nice streets with a community feel and safe?

also, are there mum and baby groups as we are trying for a kid.
thank you!

I’m close by at the brow of Perry Rise. They’re decent streets, though Mayow can be traffic-heavy, especially at school run times, and closest to the social housing on Inglemere and Dacres can be a bit noisy – nothing unpleasant, but several of the housing association houses appear to have been turned into HMOs for temporary accommodation and the tenants often sit out in the front garden for hours playing music and drinking, which would drive me bananas if I had to live next to it. Mayow Park is lovely – as well as the play area and café, I’ve seen parent and baby yoga classes taking place on the grass, in the summer there are children’s theatre productions, and various ecology activities aimed at families. You also have the Sydenham Garden community on Wynell Road, and Dacres Nature Reserve. We have a fantastic little community going on with our neighbours and the pub across the street, I think we’re very lucky.
