Thought you didn't have enough resources and were stretched to the max, so how about a little less chat and a lot more action, i.e. go and catch the bad guy's because they've taken over the streets, if you hadn't noticed London's no longer a safe place to live.
121 crimes were reported here in December 2024

You've identified key types of crimes over a three month period.
Are these purely reported crimes or the actual number of crimes committed, because honestly, they seem rather low, which either means i) detection rates of crimes are not widely reported,, hence such low figures or ii) you are so efficient at preventing crimes this is all that's happened.
As it's only 29/3/25, aren't the figures a bit presumptuous? And that is mighty efficient reporting and collation of the data????????????????????
Only 9 drug offences and 7 motor vehicle thefts ????????? Mnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn,
in the entire month in the ward for a month ?????????????????
Are you sure your data is correct and that's not just for one week? Call me cynical, but?

Figures provided are generally in line with those provided by the Met Police https://www.met.police.uk/area/your-area.../crime-map
(Figures currently only available to Jan 2025 but police have access to more up to date data)
Both systems cover all reported crimes. Other crimes may have been committed but not reported/detected.
The big differences in the numbers are for Anti-Social Behaviour where definitions may vary from the systems used by local police and the national published standards, but drugs and motor vehicle thefts are basically the same.
Oh Michael,
Am I not allowed to question the data without you then questioning the I have made a comment. It's a public forum, it really shouldn't need you having a dig about my post.
What do you think the accurate reported crime rates are in the Forest Hill ward over a one month period?
Do you really think there are 7 reported vehicle thefts per week and that every day, in one half of SE23, a car is stolen?
As you say, this is a public forum where people can find out about what it is like to live in the area. I don't think the impression you give of daily vehicle thefts accurately reflects most people's experience of living in the area. When you post items such as this I think it is reasonable for me to post a response with corroborating evidence as I have done.
There has been a plague of car thefts across SE23 and SE22
I didn't intend to give an impression of daily thefts, what I did as I said at the top, I used the newsletters figures, suggest you take it up with the authors.

I have no issue with the figures in the newsletter. It was you that challenged them (although not directly with the authors).

The implication of the figures being four times as high gives the result of daily motor vehicle thefts in the ward.

But that is certainly the logical conclusion of the way you rejected the figures provided.
None of the figures support a plague of car thefts in SE23. Covid was a plague and impacted hundred of people per week in the ward, not seven people per month (and these figures include theft from motor vehicles as well as theft of motor vehicles). I'm not in favour of car thefts but I don't think this constitutes a plague.
There was a plague of car thefts on the road I live on and surrounding roads, so yes, PLAGUE is the right word to describe what was perpetrated by those who did the thieving. And the police response was unsurprisingly slow.
